 Does DAX support the Excel TEXT function? 

Answer
It does, but in DAX, it becomes the FORMAT function.
 
=FORMAT(Table1[Date],"dddd") will spell out the day of the week.

Sim, mas no DAX o nome trocou para FORMAT. =FORMAT(Table1[Date],"dddd") irá dizer o dia da semana.
